Hi, my name is Carl Paul. I was born in Grimsby in 1962, I’m married to Sylvia and have two children Daniel and Lauren.
My interest in art started at an early age, at school the teachers always called upon me to help them with the art and design, ie. Christmas concerts, plays etc.
When I left school in 1979 I enroled in the Grimsby College of Art and Design. As you will see, I like to paint in many different styles and subjects, from wildlife and landscape to portraiture. My favourite artists are Van Gogh, Degas, Monet and Renoir. It’s their use of colour and bold strokes to create their work that impressed and influenced me at such an early age.
My work is currently for sale in the Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby, Pennells Garden Centre, Cleethorpes, For Your Walls Gallery, 8 Aswell Street, Louth and St. James Church, Louth, Pennells Garden Centre, Newark Road, South Hykeham, Lincoln and The Little Red Gallery, 8 Bailgate, Lincoln, The Lincoln Minster Shop, The Lincoln Visitation Centre, Castle Hill, The Usher Gallery and the Collection, Lincoln, The Little Red Gallery, 8 St. Mary’s Hill, Stamford.
